Reading for my project

I was worried of my project, and was even busy with the Athletics meet work, so could not post anything.

Now i am reading a paper titled " Quantifying In-efficiency for Cost-Sharing Mechanisms". This paper was suggested by my guide to read. He suggested me this paper to get rid of me at that time as he had some meeting at that time.

Might be tomorrow he will give some other paper to read again to get rid of me temporarily.

Have to see what the end result would be.

Got the offer letter

At last i got the offer letter from the big Y! on monday.

But still dont know the result of Microsoft's acquisition of Yahoo.

Feeling a bit nervous for my project, as my guide asked me to change my project and i only have 2 months to complete my project. Now i have to decide upon a problem then start working on it. However i have the literature ready with me.

Hopefully tomorrow i will be getting my new offer letter because shiva said he got his letter.

Feeling sleepy as usual on any sunday afternoon after having tummy full of biryani and icecream.

Ultimately i didnt receive my offer letter today. And hence my waiting continues.

And about the news of microsoft's bid to buy yahoo, with the offer made, Yahoo's (YHOO) share has increased drastically from 19.1$ to 28.8$ premarket.

Have to wait and see the result of both

Microsoft offers bid to Yahoo

As i was waiting for my new offer letter to be received, after a couple of hours (6:00pm) heard a news (source) to my surprise that Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo for $44.6 billion in cash and stock, or 31$ per share.

Have to wait and see how yahoo responds to this.

I also have been waiting for my new offer letter.

Waiting for Y! offer letter (changed offer letter)

October 5th 2007 remembers me of the day corporate world declared me as one of its members. Thank God!! this was the day i was waiting from a long time. I could recollect that when i got to know about my gate 44th AIR, on 15th March 2005, i wished i should get into some world famous academic institute and get a good job in a good Company. Amen, october 5th 2007 was the day that i was waiting for 2 and a half years, almost 30 months. WOW that sounds great.

I forgot to mention the company that invited me to his world, it was Yahoo!. To be frank it was on 6th October 2007 that i was placed because the results were announced after midnight of 5th oct. At around 1:30AM on 6th October 2007, HR (interviewer) called me for the HR round, i was delighted and overwhelmed with joy because HR round is only for those who the company decides to take.

After that i was eagerly waiting to see my offer letter, i got regular e-mails from the HR-Yahoo saying we will dispatch the offer letters in one week. But to my misery it took more than 1 and a half month to receive the so called offer letter with my hands. Of course, it was worth waiting that much because i liked the way offer letter was handed over to me.

I was invited to "The Beach" restaurant located at 100ft road, which connects old madras road and domlur. I received my offer letter there. To my surprise i got two t-shirts on that day, i was expecting only one. One was inside the violet Y! box and the HR gave me the other because according to her i didnt get any t-shirts on the day i was placed (she does not know that actually i took one shirt on that day).


Week by week i received news letters from the HR. One day i got a mail from her saying that the designation in the offer letter should be changed. I posted my offer letter back.

Again started my waiting for the new offer letter.

Yesterday (31st Jan 2008) she called me saying she wanted the address so that she could courier the offer letter to me. I mailed her my dept address, then she said she courired it.


It is  4:26 pm, still i am waiting for the new offer letter.

Just now checked the score of the Australia- India T20 match, horrible target set by India. Looks like India will be going to lose horribly. Hope they will win next match (cant do any thing more that that).

Hope to see the new offer letter in a couple of hours and to put and end to my waiting fruitfully.
